Today there are approximately 54 million Americans that are disabled in the United States. They represent 20% of the marketplace and have a total buying power of $220 billion in discretionary spending.
Like individuals of various races, religions, colors, genders and national origins, individuals with disabilities have suffered discrimination through exclusion from mainstream society, intentional or unintentional segregation, unequal and inferior services, and from benefits and job screening criteria that do not correlate with actual ability. Discrimination against these individuals impedes them from obtaining jobs that they can perform resulting in not having the financial independence that non disabled persons take for granted.
This program will provide Disability education awareness in the workplace which can lead to a more productive workforce and one that readily engages in teamwork and collaboration.
